Ken Burns National Parks Documentary Series Premieres on PBS

Ken Burns remembers the biting cold, the harsh wind and the idea, lying awake at night in his sleeping bag in a remote, winter wilderness, that he was far removed from the comforts of his New Hampshire home. But then he remembers the beauty of his surroundings, the healing balm of nature’s sublime wonders and his reason for being there — and for being, itself. The resulting film, Burns’ 12-hour, six-night epic documentary, The National Park’s: America’s Best Idea, bows Sunday Sept. 27 on PBS. It will air nightly until Friday, Oct. 2.
