Des Moines Park to Feature Natural Play Area

A northeast Des Moines park soon will be converted into the first in the city that uses the local environment to create a natural playscape. Sargent Park, a 27-acre site near the intersection of East Douglas and Colfax avenues, will undergo a makeover that will be completed by the end of this year, park officials said. It will follow a model used by Polk County for planning at Jester Park.
